The first picture I painted in Holland. I planned and thought about this picture while still in America. (Walking on the Guggenheim ramps as a guard). It was the transition from America to the Netherlands. The 4 monks represent the 4 directions. Seen from above, the spread robes resemble moths. If you look closely, each monk begins to change into a moth. Metamorphosis. |
